Course Description Emergency First Aid Course [Suitable for Appointed Persons within the workplace] This one day course comprisis of six 45min modules, plus one 90min module, as follows:- * Action At An Emergency. * Unconsciousness * Hypoxia & Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation [Double Module] * Shock & Heart Attacks * Control of bleeding, Wounds & Burns * Fractures & Soft Tissue Injuries * Other Common Conditions & The Role of the Appointed Person The course combines both knowledge and skill, and as practical work is included female delegates are advised to wear trousers. We also ask that you advise your trainer of any issues that affect your ability to undertake practical work. The target group for this course will be those needing to be trained as an Appointed Person within the workplace and members of the general public wishing to be trained in Emergency First Aid. The main focus on this course is dealing with the adult casualty, however we will outline child/infant CPR. This course is the minimum accepted for membership of Devon EMS. Course Outcomes:- Pass Deferred Success. Assessment via continous assessment with trainer Certificate valid for 3 years, with intermediate update [1 hr] advised. Cost- £39:00 per person [ the cost for individuals self - funding and in receipt of certain state benefits, those in full time education, and pensioners will be £26:50], to include information handouts/manual. Refreshments will be included upon registration, mid morning and mid afternoon.
