We AIM to establish within South Devon a chain of
Community Responder Groups,
which will be linked into
Devon - Community Of First Aiders.
The Responder Groups will form part of the four branches of our
"Community of First Aiders" within South Devon.
* South Dartmoor Community
* Teignbridge Community
* South Hams Community
* Torbay Community
The role of these Branches and Responder Groups will be to :-
* Facilitate a co-ordinated responce for emergencies within a local community,
in particular for heart attacks and cardiac arrest.
* Provide an Event First Aid Service for the smaller events taking
place within the local community.
* Promote First Aid within the local community.
* Where sufficient interest exists and there is an identified need enter into
discussions with Southwestern Ambulance Service with a view to establishing a
"Community First Responder Group"
[Where such a group has been established there is an open invitation to link into/form
a Devon EMS Group in order to provide an even greater service.]
* Promote Healthy Lifestyles within the local community.
* Encourage uptake of our Community Training Programme

Currently we have established a Responder Group to provide First Aid cover for the
South Devon Railway "SDR Responders" and are looking for additional members.
