WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU, LISTEN TO YOUR SUGGESTIONS ON HOW WE CAN SERVE YOUR COMMUNITY

As part of our Community Engagement Programme Devon EMS are in the process of developing a
network of Community First Aid Responder Units [Satellite Units] currently within South Devon,
however such units may be established in other parts of Devon at a later stage.

Our aim is to have local volunteers serving their local community providing the following services:-
Event First Aid Cover [see below]
Community Hospital Transport Service
Community First Aid Training.

[for details on the above services click on the heading]

FIRST AID COVER

For events requiring only First Aid Cover this will often be provided by our Community Responder Units especially at weekends and during evenings, in most cases this will attract a charge, although some very small local events may be covered by a donation.

During weekdays and at other times when the availability of volunteers may be limited or when there is no local Community Unit this service will normally be provided by our central unit
Peninsular Medical Services where a higher charge may apply.
The minimum level of cover will be a First Aid Team comprising of a fully Qualified First Aider [FAW] plus a Trained or Support First Aider, however often we will deploy a  First Responder in order that a defibrillator and emergency oxygen can be used if required.

The team will work from either our First Aid Support Vehicle [upper right] for small events, this vehicle may be supported by our First Aid Tent.  For medium sized events our Mobile First Aid Unit [lower right] will be deployed in order that a patient may be rested, examined and treated in total privacy
