Community Patient Transport Service
Whilst we operate on a "not for profit basis" we must recover our running costs and therefore have to make the
following modest charges
for this service:-
Mileage charge of £0.40 per mile
each way.
Plus any other associated expences i.e car parking etc.
MISSION
To offer a Patient Transport Service
for clients who have compromised health or mobility on a "not for profit" basis, the service being provided
by our volunteer members
pending their availability.
Devon EMS operates three vehicles suitable for Patient Transport use
ARE YOU
* Visiting a Hospital Outpatient Clinic Appointment [*]
* Require transport to and from a Hospital Day Surgery Procedure
* Being admitted to or discharged from Hospital and require transport.
* Have compromised health or mobility and fancy a trip out
DO YOU
* Require something a little more personal than the NHS Hospital Car Service.
THEN OUR COMMUNITY PATIENT TRANSPORT SERVICE MAY BE FOR YOU.
* This service is restricted to hospitals in South Devon, Derriford Hospital or RD&E Hospital only.
Our Patient Transport Minibus [ shown opposite] is very
comfortable and spacious, can accomodate four seated plus carer
in the back, or two wheelchairs plus two seated.
In addition can accomodate a recumbent or semi-recumbent patient
on a stretcher trolley.
As Devon EMS operates a minimum lift policy clients must be mobile
with assistance or if in a wheel chair be able to transfer with minimum assistance.
An alternative to the the Minibus
for those who are more mobile is our
Peugeot Partner or Peugeot 807
Support Vehicles.
The seats on these vehicles are high off the ground with wide opening front doors
and rear sliding doors,
both these vehicles benefit fron
air conditioning for your comfort.
